Received my saw only two days after placing order and was anxious to use it. I used my ice auger and drilled two holes through 17" of ice about 3 feet apart, my test was to use the saw to cut between the holes. It took about 5 minutes to make the cut and I could not maintain a straight line. The saw does cut the ice but because of the long blade tends to bind in the saw cut. It was alot of work to make this one cut and I will be using my chain saw this year to cut my sturgeon hole. Perhaps this saw works better on thin ice.
I would not recommend this saw if you want to flare your ice hole sides. It works best if you only need straight vertical sides to your ice hole.
